As warm summer days turn to crisp autumn evenings, harvest season officially kicks off in Napa Valley. From August to October, wine growers and vineyard workers labor around the clock to harvest grapes and focus on the winemaking process. As harvest gets into full swing, visitors from around the globe descend upon the valley to witness the process firsthand and sip some standout wines along the way.
To welcome guests, many wineries and vineyards in Napa Valley offer special tasting events that serve as an introduction to their property. Case in point:
Judd’s Hill Winery & MicroCrush in Napa Valley. Established in the 1970s, the property is known for its fruit-driven fine wines and personal approach (annual production is limited to less than 3,000 cases to ensure quality and originality).
Since 1991, the winery has also helped budding vintners create handcrafted, one-of-a-kind wines through its Custom MicroCrush program. Expert winemakers are available to guide wine enthusiasts through the process of making small batches of individualized wine amidst the vineyards in Napa Valley. All of the wines are produced in the certified green winery, which is designed to minimize negative impact on the land through environmentally friendly lighting, drainage, recycling, and composting.
To celebrate the advent of harvest season, Judd’s Hill Winery will be throwing an exciting harvest party (tickets are priced at $55 per person). Wine club members will be given free entry to the event, but they must RSVP in advance to reserve a spot.
Taking place on Sunday, August 11 from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., the event will highlight a roster of new fall releases. In addition to sampling the new varietals among the vines on the property, guests will be served a mouthwatering lunch. Whether you’re interested in making your own wine or simply seeing what the harvest process is like, the harvest party is a great way to get an in-depth look at Napa Valley living. Tickets can currently be
booked online.
