From relaxing spas to fine dining, discover your perfect Napa getaway

Start your Napa Valley vacation off on the right foot by booking a room or suite at an upscale resort. From secluded wine country cottages with private patios to high-end rooms with fireplaces and two-person soaking tubs, the following resorts guarantee an unforgettable stay.

Meadowood Napa Valley

Surrounded by mountains and towering trees, Meadowood Napa Valley is a five-star resort that offers state-of-the-art accommodations, picturesque views, and gourmet cuisine. During the day, lounge by one of the three onsite swimming pools or head to the Meadowood Spa to enjoy soothing treatments in calming suites surrounded by relaxation gardens. At night, retire to elegant rooms and suites--several of which are outfitted with wood-burning fireplaces, private decks, two-person soaking tubs, and king beds. Though pricing depends on the season, rates usually start at around $700.

Carneros Inn

Set on a 28-acre plot that offers pastoral views of the surrounding vineyards, Carneros Inn shows off cottage-style digs with outdoor patios, walk-in showers, and vaulted ceilings. Three onsite dining options (FARM at Carneros, Boon Fly Cafe, and the ultra-swanky Hilltop Dining Room) offer everything from gourmet hamburgers and donuts to dishes highlighting fresh produce from the onsite culinary garden. For a special treat, head to the recently renovated Spa at Carneros for a skincare treatment or couples massage. If you want to grab some food and wine for an off-site excursion, head to the upscale market, which sells everything from personalized picnic baskets to bottles of wine. While rates vary based on the time of year and availability, rooms generally start at around $550.

Auberge du Soleil

Inspired by the south of France, Auberge du Soleil features 33 acres of heritage olive and oak trees, contemporary guest rooms and suites, and a peaceful spa. After starting a successful fine dining restaurant in Napa Valley in 1981, French restauranter Claude Rouas and his business partner Bob Harmon opened “The Inn of the Sun” five years later. Hidden among sun-kissed hills, the five-star resort is known for its personalized attention. From individualized wine tours to private breakfasts on a terrace overlooking the valley, the resort staff is available to coordinate one-of-a-kind outings for visitors. Rates generally start at around $900.
