4 Can’t-Miss Music Events in Napa Valley this Winter

December 4, 2019

Celebrate the holiday season by attending a local concert or theatre performance in Napa Valley

Looking for a fun winter outing? From listening to classic band ABBA to attending a winter solstice concert, here are four area events you won’t want to miss.
ABBA The Concert

Comprised of members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, ABBA is a Swedish group that was formed in the 1970s. (The name, fittingly, is an acronym of the first letters of each of their first names.) As one of the most successful bands in the 1970s and 1980s, ABBA is responsible for hits like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, and Waterloo. They’ll be performing at the Uptown Theatre Napa on Sunday, December 29th at 9 p.m. Tickets are priced from $45 to $65.

Kenny G. at the Opera House

Everyone’s favorite American saxophonist Kenny G. will be performing at the Napa Valley Opera House on Friday, December 27th at 9 p.m. (tickets range from $130 to $160) and the Blue Note Napa on Thursday, December 31st at 5 p.m. (tickets from $99 to $149). The best-selling artist, who has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, is sure to set the scene with his soothing tunes.

Windham Hill Winter Solstice Concert

Welcome the winter solstice by attending the Windham Hill Winter Solstice Concert, which takes place at the Uptown Theatre on Sunday, December 22nd at 8 p.m. Guitarist Will Ackerman, fiddler/singer/pianist/songwriter Barbara Higbie, guitarist Todd Boston, and cellist Mia Pixley are joining forces to perform both original and traditional acoustic music as well as solo performances. The concert will take place on Sunday, December 22nd from 8 to 11:59 p.m. Tickets are priced from $35.

Music in the Courtyard

Taking place on Fridays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Music in the Courtyard at Picayune Cellars in Calistoga is a lively event where locals can browse the mercantile, buy a glass of wine, and sit in the courtyard while listening to acoustic performances.
