Napa Valley, like much of the country, has been asked to shelter-in-place for the safety of the American population. Luckily for everyone, there are still ways to support local businesses and enjoy the delicious cuisine that Yountville is known for while quarantining. Although local eateries have been asked to forego tableside service for the health and safety of both workers and diners, consider ordering takeout or delivery from your favorite local restaurants. For your convenience, I’ve curated a list of nine Napa Valley restaurants that continue to serve our community during this time to make dinnertime easier while we stay at home.
If you’re craving Italian food, Ciccio won’t let you down. Their wood-fired stove gives incredible depth to their pizzas, and their seasonally rotating menu features local produce—including from their personal farm at Altamura Ranch, Vineyard, and Winery. Service hours have been reduced in light of the shelter-at-home mandates, but Ciccio is still open Wednesdays through Sundays for lunch and dinner. Menu favorites like spicy salami pizza, porchetta paninis, and a take-and-bake version of their scrumptious vegetable lasagna will be available for carry-out. Their menu items are constantly changing, and Ciccio has made it easy to check COVID-19 related service updates on their website.
Thomas Keller is a household name in Napa Valley, rightfully earned by his award-winning cooking and prominent Yountville restaurants, and now his creations at both Ad Hoc and Addendum can be enjoyed at home. Curbside pickup is available every day but Sunday and can be ordered online in advance. Both kitchens work together to craft delectable three-course family meals that can be carried out and reheated at home for $19.95 per person. Their menus change daily, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for your favorite dishes, whether that’s smoked BBQ tri-tip or buttermilk fried chicken. Their signature American comfort food won’t disappoint. Additionally, the Keller Restaurant Relief Fund has been established to support food industry workers during this difficult time, and patrons are encouraged to donate to help the community.
R+D Kitchen is bringing deluxe sushi to Yountville. This national gem has locations on both coasts, and the Napa Valley restaurant has proven itself to be a local favorite. Menu items like shrimp and macadamia rolls, Osaka-style spicy tuna rolls, and plates of finely filleted nigiri have been wowing guests across the nation for years. During these times, R+D Kitchen is encouraging takeout orders, which can be placed online with ease, to continue to foster a sense of community here in Yountville. Their take-home menu has starters, sushi, entrées, and sandwiches, so there’s plenty to choose from.
This contemporary steakhouse is accommodating diners by providing dine-out options like pick-up and delivery, so if you’d like to eat hand-cut beef tartare at home, now you can. This chophouse’s seasonal menu is designed to accentuate the dry-aged meats made possible by Adam Perry Lang, the proprietor of Perry Lang’s and the grilling mastermind behind its incredible menu. Bring oysters Rockefeller, dry-aged burgers, and St. Louis pork ribs home for the family. Sweet tooths will also love their indulgent dessert options, like buttermilk panna cotta and Basque-style cheesecake. Although we’d all love to eat dinner on the grounds of the Groezinger Estate House at Perry Lang’s, Napa Valley is lucky to be able to enjoy these famous dishes at home.
Located on Washington Street, Protea serves up Caribbean food prepared with tender love and care. This restaurant is constantly reinventing its menu, so each time you enjoy a meal from Protea, it’s a little bit different. Their daily shifting menu allows their kitchen to fully embrace seasonal ingredients, which coincides with their mission to serve elegantly crafted meals with technical precision. Some of their menu items include Jamaican curry jerk shrimp, chicharron tacos, and tasty empanadas. On weekends, choose a Protea breakfast burrito or chilaquiles. Protea caters to the Yountville community by continuing to provide excellent cuisine with a Caribbean flair.
This longtime Main Street favorite has recently altered its appearance. You may remember it as Yountville Deli. Now, Velo Deli & Pizzeria is also crafting handmade pizzas that you’re sure to love. Deli sandwiches like the classic Yountville sandwich with roasted turkey, avocado, brie, and lettuce and The Tyler hot sandwich with hot ham and bacon are great lunch choices for an afternoon indoors. Pizza options like the classic cheese pie, white pizza with artichokes, and supreme pizza are family-pleasers, and each can be purchased by the slice or the whole pizza. Velo Deli & Pizzeria makes takeout and delivery simple by offering online ordering directly from their website.
