There was a 54% rise in the number of millionaires, a 106% increase in the number with wealth above $100 million, and more than double the number of billionaires.

This segment comprises the richest people in the world that control a disproportionate amount of global wealth. Ultra high net worth is generally quoted in terms of liquid assets over a certain figure. The exact amount differs by financial institution and region. The majority of UHNWs, or 49%, reside in the United States. Why is that? A recent article in The Huffington Post says the answer is simple. America is really, really good at creating wealthy individuals.
