EXPERIENCE THE NAPA VALLEY’S MUSICAL FESTIVAL FOR BRAIN HEALTH

Be sure to purchase your tickets to the Napa Valley’s 20th annual Staglin Family Music Festival for Brain Health. This year’s guests will enjoy a live performance from Jewel and Vintage Trouble at The Staglin Family estate in Rutherford, CA . To date, the family has raised millions of dollars for the International Mental Health Research Organization. This year’s event will take place on Sept 7, 2014.

There will be a silent auction at the event and an exclusive on-line auction for attendees only. Party guests will also enjoy the exclusive cave reception, VIP Dinner, Food Truck fest (featuring gourmet trucks) a premier concert and more. The family expects about 450 guests to gather on their 51 acre, organically farmed vineyards. The price is $750 per person, which includes an enlightening scientific symposium.

The Staglin Family wines are excellent but what inspires me the most is their philanthropic work. The family has raised nearly $725 million since opening the vineyard in 1985. That’s not so surprising considering the Staglin family’s motto is “Great wines for great causes,” Their main cause is mental health research.

The family also started the International Mental Health Research Organization in 1995. The subject of brain health is a very personal cause to Shari and Garen Staglin because in 1990 their son Brandon was diagnosed with schizophrenia during his freshman year at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

After Brandon’s diagnosis, the Staglin family began a journey into educating themselves about the disease and metal health in general. After struggling to find the best medications to control his illness, Brandon went back to school and graduated with honors! He is now the director of marketing for Staglin Family Vineyard. His sister Shannon is president of the winery.

In addition to the event, the family is donating proceeds from the sales of their Salus Chardonnay (about $50 a bottle) and their Salus Cabernet (about $90 a bottle) to help fund the festival.

I hope you show your support to this outstanding Napa family by attending the Musical Festival for Brain Health. I’ll be there for sure.
