Luxury Holiday Meals in St. Helena: Everything You Need to Know

Celebrate the season with delicious cuisine at The Restaurant at Meadowood

Few holiday dinners are as highly anticipated as the Twelve Days of Christmas at Meadowood. Located about 20 miles from St. Helena in the rolling green hills of Napa, the 12-day charity event brings top chefs from around the world to cook together with Chef Kostow. Chefs will utilize seasonal produce from Meadowood’s 3.5-acre farm. The lineup is as follows:

Friday, December 6th: Chef Gabriela Camara of seafood restaurant Contramar in Mexico City and the forthcoming Onda will show off her flavorful fare, which she makes using sustainable, equitable farming and restaurant sourcing practices.

Saturday, December 7th: Chef John Shields of two-Michelin-starred restaurant Smyth in Chicago will take the second shift. Shields will curate high-end, imaginative New American cuisine and wine pairings that are similar to what is served at Smyth.

Tuesday, December 10th: Distinguished as Hong Kong’s youngest Michelin-starred chef, Daniel Calvert of Belon will be serving up French-inspired bistro food.

Wednesday, December 11th: Chef Jose Avillez, who helms restaurants in Portugal and Dubai, will be cooking alongside Chef Kostow on day four. Located in Lisbon, Avillez’s two-Michelin-starred Belcanto recently placed #42 on The World’s Best 50 Restaurants List.

Thursday, December 12th: As the chef and owner of Atoboy (a fine-dining concept with a 10-course tasting menu) and Atomix (a Michelin-starred restaurant that serves Korean cuisine) in New York City, chef Junghyun Park is well-versed in both upscale and more down-to-earth food, so look forward to a wide range of culinary options.

Friday, December 13th: Chefs Jeremy Chan and Ire Hasan-Odukale curate a must-try seven-course African dining menu at Ikoyi in London, so be sure to bring your appetite for this culinary fusion experience.

Saturday, December 14th: Though he had no formal training as a chef, Nicolai Norregaard of Kadeau in Copenhagen picked up his cooking skills from his grandfather. He now has one and two Michelin stars for his restaurants.

Tuesday, December 17th: Chef Brady Williams of Canlis (a sit-down seafood restaurant in Seattle) received a James Beard Award for “Best Chef: Northwest” in 2019. Expect to see plenty of seafood on this menu.

Wednesday, December 18th: Chef Jeremy Charles of Raymonds in Canada is known for using the freshest, most flavorful ingredients from local purveyors at his restaurant. He’ll certainly make good use of the produce sourced from the onsite garden.

Thursday, December 19th: Chef Malcolm Lee of Candlenut in Singapore brings a modern approach to Peranakan heritage food (a marriage of Chinese ingredients with spices and cooking techniques of Malay and Indonesian culture). It’s a unique meal you won’t forget anytime soon.

Friday, December 20th: Chef Val M. Cantu of Californios, who helms a high-end Mexican restaurant in San Francisco, will be bringing his signature style to the chef-led dinner series.

Saturday, December 21st: Three-Michelin-starred chef Christopher Kostow of The Restaurant at Meadowood and The Charter Oak will be hosting the final dinner.

Proceeds of this series will benefit Saint Helena Preschool for All, Inc., a local nonprofit organization that gives scholarships to young children. The Restaurant at Meadowood will donate $2,000 in honor of every guest chef as well as 10% of every dinner ticket sold. Guests are also invited to bring unwrapped gifts to the event, which the staff will wrap and deliver to local children in need throughout the holiday season. Reservations are now available.
