Current trends in the real estate market are making it more and more attractive for homebuyers to purchase turnkey properties. Many of these types of deals are contingent on everything that is in the home – down to the toothbrush holder! The ease of closing on a property and being able to move in and live comfortably the next day is becoming such a popular notion that these types of listings are getting snapped up before you can say “sold!”

Buyers love the idea of not having to deal with the nitty-gritty details of moving or purchasing new furniture, dishes, décor, and everything else that comes along with furnishing a new home. The seller looking for a fresh start can move on from their property in one fell swoop and be able to literally start from scratch, shedding their possessions and furniture in one, neat transaction.

Sellers are cashing in on these types of arrangements as well and some are even making a business out of it! Contractors and interior designers are teaming up to create these sought after turnkey properties, offering large and small-scale listings to the buyer searching for the convenience this arrangement can offer. Large-scale or luxury turnkey properties often come with incredible custom furnishings and even amazing works of art.

One of our current and most favorite listings, 1141 Ehlers Lane, is this exact kind of turnkey property. The listing price includes everything that is currently in the home, from the unique blend of customized furnishings to the unmatched collection of vintage and contemporary artwork. What’s more? The home was furnished and designed by Martha Angus, well-renowned designer with 20+ years of experience coordinating with high-end clients such as Ralph Lauren and the Lauders.

Another of our fabulous 2013 turnkey property listings, 1724 Stockton Street, located just blocks from charming downtown St. Helena, sold in just one week. This fabulous pied-à-terre nestled in a grove of olive trees included all furnishings; many created by designer Rela Gleason, and offered design elements such as antique timbers, bronze-finished doors and windows, reclaimed oak floors, and marble bathrooms.
