I absolutely adore Napa’s Calistoga Ranch, and apparently, I am not alone in my feelings. In fact, Auberge Resorts and a group of partners, including vintner Bill Foley of the Foley Food & Wine Society, made history recently by purchasing the 50-room boutique resort and setting the sales record for the highest price paid per room in the nation.
Although the final purchase price was not disclosed, it is reported that the group paid more than $1 million per room. That amount is not surprising when you consider that guests pay some of the highest overnight rates in California to stay at this premier property.
“The Calistoga Ranch experience coupled with the cachet of Napa and its excellent underlying market supply and demand fundamentals have enabled Olympus to maximize the sale price,” explained a press release regarding the sale.
Featuring 50 rooms that are actually separate, freestanding contemporary guest lodges, Napa’s Calistoga Ranch, a 5-star resort, is set in a secluded 157-acre canyon in the Upvalley.
